BA Utd football club has signed veteran defender Eric Kwabena Boakye who ply his trade as a taxi driver in the Sunyani Municipality ahead of the upcoming season scheduled to start on February 11.
This new signing has got supporters furious as they believe the former Goldfields defender has passed his prime and has little to offer.
Nana Adu Osei a supporter of the Apostles of Power Soccer told Ark FM Sport Center that, they the supporters are not happy with the signing of Eric Kwabena Boakye because they need a team that can qualify them to the premier league.
According to him, Kwabena Boakye was a very good player during his playing days but that was almost 15 years ago. They strongly believe he is too old to play active football.
“How can a 40 year old taxi driver who stopped playing football since 2011 help us”, Nana Osei queried.
Kwabena Boakye played with the likes of Abukari Kankani, Kofi Amoako, Aminu musah,Edmund copson etc at the then Goldfields now Ashantigold fc . He also played for Meadema, and Bechem Utd.
