NDC Flagbearer elections: 27,853 to vote in B/A

A total of twenty seven thousand, eight hundred and fifty three (27,853) delegates are expected to vote in the Brong Ahafo Regional (BAR) version of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) elections scheduled for Saturday, February 23, 2019.

The Regional Chairman for the party, H.E Ambassador Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo who revealed this in an interview with Ark FM’s Akroma Yeboah Asumah on “Ogya Kase3bo” explained that the number comprises of 9 core executives from branches in all the 29 constituencies in the Region and former appointees made up of Ambassadors, former Ministers, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCE’s) and former Council of state members.

“We have branches, constituencies, Region and National. 9 core executives from branches from all the 29 constituencies in the Region are expected to vote in the election. Staff with the Regional Secretariat belongs to a constituency so they are going to vote there since the party will not create any polling station at the Regional Secretariat for anyone” he explained.

“The elections will begin 7:00am on Saturday and end at 5:00pm. We are going by the laws governing elections in the country and the Electoral Commission (EC) has been tasked to conduct the elections” the Chairman added.


H.E Ambassador Nyamkye Marfo noted that the Party has met with the B/A regional Police Service command (GPS) to handle the security of the elections thus cautioning vigilantes among the party to desist from performing any duty at the election ground.

Hon Kwadwo Nyamkye Marfo who is a former Ghana’s ambassador to Egypt, however cautioned, the party will not shield any member or group caught violating the laws governing the election on the set date as this will help the party to achieve its aim of regaining power come 2020 general elections.
