The Brong Ahafo Regional Communications Director of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Ali Deyinday has advised the party hierarchy to concentrate on winning seats in Parliament rather than aiming at the Presidency.
The 2016 Parliamentary Candidate for Berekum West said this had become necessary as the party’s fortune in making incursions in Presidential elections ‘’keeps hitting the rock’’.
‘’I’m hoping to be appointed to the party’s disciplinary committee because I am not happy with my party. It is time we look at getting Parliamentary representation rather than contesting for the Presidency’’ he opined.
Mr. Deyindey told the host of Issues on Ark Fm, Paa Willie that at least, a parliamentarian from each of the ten regions in Ghana could help soar the image of our Presidential candidate to make him attractive to Ghanaians in subsequent elections.
‘’ Our party is losing its credibility jn the Presidential contest, the CPP would have been the mediators in the just ended Ayawaso Wuogon by election if we had a fair representation in parliament’’.
Ali Deyinay noted the harsh living conditions of ordinary Ghanaians and called on the Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo led government to expedite action to change the situation.
He commended the NPP government for the introduction of the Nations Builders Corps (NABCO) but noted that ‘’though it is a good move to cut down the unemployment rate, a number of the beneficiaries do not even know their job description and this is worrying’’
