Niger 2019: Black Satellites Qualify For CAF U-20 AFCON

Ghana’s male U-20 football team, the Black Satellites, have qualified for next year’s CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations after drawing 1-1 with Benin away from home, going through 4-2 on aggregate.

Jimmy Corblah’s side won the first leg 3-1 in Cape Coast a week ago before making the trip across to Benin for the return encounter.

Benin scored first in the second half before WAFA midfielder Prosper Ahiabu pulled parity to share the spoils.

In the previous round, Ghana triumphed 2-0 over Algeria in Cape Coast after the first leg ended 0-0 in Algiers.

The tournament will take place in Niger between 24 February – 10 March 2019.

The top four teams will qualify as CAF’s representatives for the 2019 FIFA U-20 world cup to be hosted in Poland in May.
