Former Chief executive of Ejusu Juaben Municipal Assembly, Afrifa Yawmoah Ponko, has warned NDC eligible delegates in Ashanti region to elect competent leaders who have the ability to call Wontumi the Ashanti regional chairman of NPP to order.
According to Yamoah Ponkoh, Chairman Wontumi is an election tactician who brilliantly executed NPP’s 2016 elections tactics to perfection in Ashanti region which maximise party’s votes in the region.
“Wontumi has exhibited something which we all saw during election 2016 and that is the gospel truth. He assured the NPP’s presidential candidate now the president of the republic Nana Akufo Addo that, he will downside the NDC’s votes in Ashanti among other things which he executed to perfection’’.
He believes the NDC Ashanti regional executives gave the then opposition NPP free field to execute their elections strategies because NDC was represented by weak front which calls for change.
“ While the NDC was in government our party leaders in Ashanti region failed to call Wontumi and his guys to order, how much more now that his party is in government” he asked.
He added the party needs strong leadership which has the ability to march the NPP in the region in the 2020 elections.
“This is politics we need somebody who can bring him to order, and I see that leadership qualities in Yammin Joseph, he was once Ashanti regional Secretary, Deputy Ashanti regional minister, deputy minister of Youth & Sports, and deputy NADMO Boss.”, Yamoah Ponkoh noted.
He again described Yammin as party politics communication expert” When it comes to communications he excels, he has command over the English language and Twi, What else can’t Yammin do in party politics?. Just this morning I heard somebody saying you don’t talk too much in politics because the work is done on the grounds, that is correct but am warning my party delegates not to vote for “dumb” as your regional chairman who can’t talk ” stressed.
The opposition NDC branch in Ashanti region is expected to hold elections on Saturday 1st September 2018 in Kumawu to elect new regional executives to manage the affairs of the party for the next four years.
