Instant Justice: Bay Logistics Labourer Loses One Eye After Assault By Security Men

A Labourer working with Bay Logistics Limited, one of the companies working on Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC)’s Voltain Basin Project at Beposo near Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo Region is in a dire medical condition after he was severely beaten by Security men.

Bassago Basile, a drilling labourer was returning from night duty on August 4, 2018 when he was stopped by officers of a private security company manning the project site who mistook him for a thief.

He told them he was a worker at the project site but the security officers were not convinced and subjected him to severe torture.

Myarkfmonline.com understands that the victim was tortured throughout the night and was only released the next morning after some officials of Bay Logistics came to confirm that he was one of their staff.

A report was lodged with the Atebubu police and a medical form issued.

A medical report cited by myarkfmonline.com stated that the victim was diagnosed of ‘’Subconjuctival Haemorrhage secondary to trauma’’ and ‘’glaucoma on both eyes’’.

Myarkfmonline.com is learning that the victim is currently unable to see with his left eye and has since been receiving treatment at the Atebubu Municipal Hospital.
