The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, Most Rev. Mathew Kwasi Gyamfi has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to grant the Catholic University College of Ghana (CUCG) a presidential charter.
“The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Lawyer Kwau Asomah Cheremeh and the various Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s) are aware of the kind of achievement the church has been able to achieve after the establishment of the university,” he opined.
He said granting the presidential charter will be a continuation of the good work the Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has embarked on since the establishment of the university.
This the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani believes will help improve upon the population of the university which is cited in Fiapre, in the Sunyani West District of the Brong Ahafo Region (BAR) which will as well help uplift the current standard of the university.
The Sunyani Catholic Diocese Bishop made this known when he delivered a welcome address at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Sunyani the capital of the Brong Ahafo Region when the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo paid a visit to the church on Sunday (May 20,18) the day three of the president’s tour to the Brong Ahafo Region.
