The Sunyani West Teachers welfare chapter of Ghana Education Service (GES) in Sunyani West District of the Brong Ahafo has made a cash donation to a class four (4) teacher in the district who lost all her belongings to fire which raised down their house of nine (9) rooms a couple of weeks ago.
From the coffers of the teachers welfare fund, an amount of Four Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 4,000) guaranteed by the constitution of the fund were presented to Miss Faustina Boahemaa of Kobedi AME Zion Primary School.
Making the presentation, the Director of Ghana Education Service for Sunyani West district, Mrs. Angelyn Veronica Adu – Saforo, said the gesture was meant to support the family in these difficult times where they have lost almost everything they have spent years to acquire.
“We know very well this amount is scanty and may not be adequate enough to cater for all your family needs but at least it will mitigate the pain a bit. We’re by this gesture appealing to all and sundry to kindly support our colleague in both cash and kind to make life a bit comfortable for them”.
She again used the platform to thank Sunyani Teacher’s welfare very much for the swift action dictate by the constitution and their show of such incredible sympathy.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the teacher and her family, the head teacher of Kodedi AME Zion Primary School, Mr. Appiah Hene Gyamfi expressed his profound gratitude to the District Education Directorate, the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (CoHBS) and the Teacher’s welfare for such a wonderful and timely generosity. He believed it will go a long way to assist in the families in re-starting their life.
