The chairman of the National Peace Council, Most Reverend Prof. Emmanuel Kwaku Asante, has said the council have not commented on gay rights neither have they accepted homosexuality as published by the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper.
He said, the information he gave when interviewed on Starr Fm has been twisted. He stressed that, he and the peace council where he is the Chairman does not support homosexuality.
Rev. Asante said, the act portrayed by the Observer Newspaper is immoral and rubbish which should not be entertained. He said this in an interview with Kwabena Obeng Akrofi on Ark in the morning.
According to him, the Newspaper used the headline to tarnish his image while selling their paper, which he believes is against the ethics of the media profession. The former Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana called on the media to be circumspect with their reportage to avoid dragging peoples name into the mud.
