Mr. Kwasi Lampo speaking with Ark Fm’s Nana Kwame Adjei Bohyen said the bill which seeks to empower NADMO to improve on its operational efficiency, would also help the organization to take certain firm decisions and actions to prevent disaster.
“This will reduce the rate at which rules governing MMDCE’s when it comes to preventing disasters are flouted,” he stated.
According to him, NADMO with its current duty cannot crack whip of offenders who flout rules especially in building along water ways adding that this has contributes immensely to the increasing rate of disasters in the country.
Mr. Lampo’s comments came after the Ghana Meteorological Agency issued a warning of impending rainstorm in the country thereby calling on Ghanaians to take precautions me to forestall disasters which normally occurs during rainy seasons as a result of poor sanitation condition in some part of the country with Sunyani not being exception.
Mr. Kwasi Lampo however reassured his outfit readiness to educate the general public on how to curtail any possible outbreak of disaster in the Sunyani Municipality.
