African teenager allegedly held captive and used as sex slave in Sydney

An African girl has been taken to hospital in Sydney after escaping from a house where she was allegedly held captive and repeatedly sexually assaulted.

Police said a man flew the 17-year-old girl, who he met in Guinea, to Sydney in early April to be his cleaner.

Officers said when the girl arrived, she was held in a room and sexually assaulted by several men.

She escaped in the early hours of the morning on April 27 and was picked up by a woman who drove her to the Asylum Seeker Centre.

The girl was then taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital before being placed into the care of Family and Community Services.

The Australian Federal Police’s Human Trafficking Unit is continuing its inquiries to determine when the girl arrived in Australia, and identify the man she was travelling with.

Police alleged the teenager travelled from the west African nation to Sydney via Paris, which took several days.

The New South Wales State Crime Command are appealing for the woman who picked her up, believed to be named Nicole, to come forward.
